About Me

Hi! My name is Emily, and I’m the heart and soul behind Great Woof Lodge LLC. For as long as I can remember, animals have been my greatest joy and source of fulfillment, and having the opportunity to create this haven for them is a dream come true.

My journey into the world of animal care started by volunteering at the Michigan Humane Society during my high school years. It was there, surrounded by wagging tails and grateful eyes, that I realized my true calling. Continuing my volunteer work at the Cleveland Kennels through their City Dogs program only deepened my bond with these incredible creatures. We shared adventures on monthly hikes and forged connections that would last a lifetime.

From 2016 to 2020, I had the honor of being part of the team at Tailwaggers in Livonia, a nonprofit veterinary clinic. Every day, I witnessed the profound impact of compassion and care as we tended to the needs of countless furry companions. Whether it was assisting in the operating room during spay and neuter clinics or administering vaccinations during our bustling vaccination days, each moment reaffirmed my unwavering dedication to improving the lives of animals.

When the time came to take the next step in my journey, I knew in my heart that I wanted to continue serving the furry friends who had brought so much light into my life. Founding Great Woof Lodge was more than just a career move; it was a labor of love. My own pets, Rory the golden retriever, Ryder the German shepherd, and Indy the sassy tortie cat, are not just animals to me—they are cherished members of my family; and every pet who walks through the doors of Great Woof Lodge becomes an honorary member of our family too.

I want you to know that when you entrust your beloved pets to my care, you’re not just choosing a kennel—you’re choosing a promise. A promise to love and care for them as if they were my own. A promise to create a safe and nurturing environment where tails wag freely and hearts are full.
